Motivation in the 21 century is not what you may think…

I have in my career worked in several companies, many of them had financial reward systems but I have often felt these systems didn’t lead to better performance for the organisation as a whole due to the narrow focus the systems indirectly encourage. Dan Pink’s talk: “The surprising science of motivation” explains how badly these traditional reward system fits with work where the solution isn’t obvious – isn’t that the case for many jobs in the 21 century ?
